Winter programme for your holiday on the Katschberg
Katschberg's Advent trail
The new Katschberg Advent trail is set to open at the end of November. Covering more than 2km, the former hay stables have been wonderfully re-designed to create little stop-offs which are in keeping with the mood in the run-up to the festive season. Whether it is the 'sound lodge', 'metal smith lodge' or the teddy bear workshop.
Warm up at the tea stops too!
Tobogganing on the Katschberg!
Tobogganing day and night – that is the maxim here. The 1.5 km toboggan run proceeds from the Gamskogelhütte down to Stamperl. Night-time tobogganing takes place twice a week.
Fun and action guaranteed!
Winter hiking on the Katschberg!
The Katschberg has some 30 km of winter hiking routes, all of which proceed through an idyllic and snow-covered winter landscape. Various difficulty levels ensure that the young, and the not-so-young, reach their destination hassle-free.
Snow-shoe hiking on the Katschberg
Our partner ski school Gottfried Krabath is happy to organise snow-shoe hikes for you. Make the most of this opportunity and exlpore the hidden areas on the Katschberg.
Ski tours in Lungau!
Want to conquer the mountain but preferably without any assistance? With our partner ski school you get to scale the best slopes and then finish off with a superb downhill ski run.
You should however never head out on a ski tour without knowing the area and definitely not by yourself. Take a guide who knows the mountains and the snow conditions with you for your ski tours.
Curling and ice-skating on the Katschberg!
There is an ice-skating rink in the Pöllatal valley in Rennweg which is open daily. When they book in advance our guests can also enjoy curling. Lots of fun and a mug of mulled wine included.
Torchlit hike to the mascot meet-up
A must-do for our little guests. A torch-lit hike from the town centre to the horse-riding centre, where children's punch and the Katschberg mascot awaits. Our little guests can also enjoy pony rides at the horse centre.
